Lovingly crafted in the heart of
Crystal Palace.

Blowing Dandelion is an artisanal chocolate shop & café located on the Triangle in Crystal Palace.

Michaela, former accountant now self-taught chocolatier, has been making chocolate since 2011. The inspiration for Blowing Dandelion struck one Christmas while Michaela was watching Jamie Oliver make truffles on telly and thought, “well, I can do that”. At the time, she was looking for a change in pace and a job that truly made her happy. She quickly took to learning all she could, creating recipes and started making truffles at home. By 2012 she had begun trading at some of the biggest street market’s in London.

Coming full circle, since the first stall only a few yards away on Church road, Blowing Dandelion opened the doors to the cafe in 2016.

Speaking to Michaela, there is an honest charm and can do attitude behind the work she’s put into her career. Having learned many of her skills online she has a fostered a unique and less traditional approach to her craft. She admits, “I don’t really know if it’s the right way to make chocolate but my customers like it.”

If you ever get the chance to sneak a peak at Michaela working away in the basement of her shop – carefully measuring, pouring, swilling, concocting rich dark potions and glistening marbled jewels – you can tell she enjoys every step of the process.

The goal at Blowing Dandelion is to inspire joy and as Michaela says, “chocolate makes people smile”.
